Hypnotherapy

As an adjunct to psychotherapy, hypnosis can help clients enter a relaxed, comfortable, trance state for obtaining specific therapeutic outcomes. With clinical hypnosis, the therapist can make suggestions designed to help the client formulate specific internal processes (feelings, memories, images and internal self-talk) that will lead to mutually-agreed-upon outcomes.

WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy combines standard cognitive and behavioral techniques with hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state that we move in and out of  during our daily lives. Examples of this state are getting really focused on a movie or good book and realizing a couple of hours have gone by or being focused on a project and the time has just flown by without you realizing it. Using hypnosis sometimes enables the therapy process to move faster and with more flexibility.

Hypnotherapy utilizes a variety of techniques that tap into the natural ability you already have. We all have a built in process for learning  we have used it since we took our first breath. However, in the course of growing up that learning process absorbed anything and everything. As a result, some of us acquired distorted ideas and beliefs that today dictate what we think about ourselves and the world we live in. Hypnotherapy uses that same natural learning process but in a planned and clinical manner. It uninstalls outdated and unhelpful learning and replaces it with positive thoughts, new experiences, and new decisions about who you truly are.
